The Analytica test:
First of all, Manuka 3-in-1 test results will tell users about the grade of honey at the time of testing. And these users include beekeepers, buyers and sellers of bulk honey, and honey processors. Furthermore, 3-in-1 tests the HMF which is an important international measure of the age and heating of honey.
The test measures concentrations of DHA (dihydroxyacetone), MG (methylglyoxal), and HMF (5-hydroxymethylfurfural) in honey. Equations are used when converting MG to non-peroxide activity (NPA) and UMF®.
Any honey type can have a 3-in-1 test. The results will show how much Manuka nectar the bees put in when making the honey.
Concentrations of DHA and MG can change over time. Consider also using a ‘Forecast MG, NPA, & HMF Report’ to get an idea of how any honey tested for 3-in-1 will change over time.
Consider using Analytica’s Manuka Nectar test to learn more about the potential of Manuka plants in producing high-grade honey.
HOW DOES ANALYTICA CONDUCT THE TEST?
Analytica can test waxy or comb honey for 3-in-1 as well as extracted honey. A sub-sample is extracted with ultra-pure water through Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) with UV detection.
To experience the most benefits, you should take a dose of about 1-2 tablespoons of Manuka honey a day. The easiest way is to just take it straight, but if it is a little too sweet for you can add it to yogurt.
If you want to enhance the immune boosting effect or heal a sore throat, add 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Research shows that the antimicrobial properties of cinnamon and Manuka honey are so powerful, that they can really help you recover fast!
