According to the many experts out there, to get the most immune boosting benefits from manuka honey, you should take a dose of about 1 to 2 tablespoons a day. The easiest way to do this is to eat a spoonful straight from the jar. Manuka honey is typically thicker in consistency, darker in colour, and has a more earthy flavour than other honeys, so if spoons of honey are a bit much for you, you could incorporate it into your breakfast meal by:
- Spreading it on a slice of wholemeal or granary toast

Made with pure raw manuka honey, raw apple cider vinegar, fresh ginger, lemon juice, and propolis extract, this manuka honey vinegar elixir will kickstart your defences and is a great way to start your day. It’s delicious, refreshing, and the manuka honey adds a nice sweetness.
You can drink this daily to keep yourself well or take it when you’re sick for a speedier recovery.
- 2 cups water
- 2.5 cm piece of fresh ginger thinly sliced
- 1-2 tbsp manuka honey
- 1-2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 4 drops honey proplis extract – optional
- Add the ginger to two cups of water and boil for about 10-15 minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool to almost room temperature. It can still be warm, but you don’t want it to be too hot or else it will kill off some of the benefits of the honey.
- Strain the ginger from your ginger tea.
- Put 1-2 tablespoons of manuka honey into a large cup or mug.
- Add the vinegar, lemon juice, and propolis.
- Once the ginger tea has cooled sufficiently, add to the mug and stir well to combine until the honey has dissolved.
- Drink and enjoy!
